It is a cold day, but Minnesota United officially held their ceremonially groundbreaking for the Midway Stadium Site today. In front of the Dark Clouds, True North Elite, members of the organization, and members of the media, Dr. Bill McGuire and company lifted the sky blue shovels to break ground on the new Stadium.
Dr. McGuire, Team President Nick Rogers, General Manager Manny Lagos, Don Garber, and St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman all braved the wind and the cold to get started on the new Stadium. The ceremony was cut shorter than the team probably would have liked, but it was nice nonetheless

The Stadium will have an official capacity of just under 20,000 with the ultimate goal of reaching just under 25,000 seats. The closest seat to the pitch is going to be 15 feet away, and the furthest seat away will still only be 145 feet from the pitch.

The Bowl looks very similar to renderings we’ve seen in the past with minor changes. It still has very similar features to those we have been seeing since the stadium was announced last year.
Take a look at the renderings that we were given by the team.
It is an exciting time to be a soccer fan in the State of Minnesota. Have more insight into the Stadium? Let us know below!
