On Monday, Minnesota United traded Expansion Draft pick Jeff Attinella to Portland for a second round pick in the 2018 SuperDraft. The trade was also rumored to include the Discovery Rights to former fan favorite, Miguel Ibarra.
Well, the suspense did not last long. FiftyFive. One is reporting that Minnesota United and Club León have agreed to a undisclosed transfer fee for Ibarra. The rumors that many of us thought were true were confirmed today.

This is a big get for the Loons as Atlanta United continues to be linked to big name transfers ahead of both club’s inaugural season. As I reported in November, Ibarra had fallen out of favor in Liga MX, and I thought a return was likely. The only hurdle was the Discovery Rights that Portland held. With the Attinella trade, that hurdle has been cleared.
