Loons acquire Bobby Shuttleworth from New England

MLS: New England Revolution at Chicago Fire Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota United FC has traded for a second time today, this time sending forward Femi Hollinger-Janzen for goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth.

Shuttleworth is part of the second trade the Loons have made today, and adds another goalkeeper to the list. Shuttleworth, whose entire time in MLS has been with New England. A majority of the last four seasons of his eight year career has been as a starter.

Manny Lagos was quoted as stating “Bobby’s a great player who has had a lot of strong performances in goal for New England. His experience and quality will be an important addition and asset throughout the season here with the club.”

This gives the Loons another option to start along with John Alvbage, who is on loan from IFK Göteborg, Alec Ferrell, and Patrick McLain.
