My29 will be familiar to many fans, having previously broadcast the Loon’s 2016 season. Meanwhile, 1500 becomes the club’s first ever radio broadcast partner.
In another move that hearkens to seasons past, former announcer Chris Lidholm is returning as the studio host for the pre-match, half-time, and post-match shows for 1500 ESPN.
Lidholm held the title of “Voice of Minnesota Soccer” since 1993, announcing for some incarnation of pro soccer in the state since then. Having him on board will help to make this truly feel like a part of the state’s soccer continuity. Plus, maybe we’ll still get to hear the “RRRRRRRRRRAMIREZ” call.
This club’s first ever MLS match tomorrow night is broadcast nationally on FS1, so it will not be on My29. However, there will be a special radio broadcast of the match on myTalk 107.1.
