We hope you’ve enjoyed (or at the least, read) the content we have been posting for the last year-plus Our aim is always to provide Minnesota soccer fans with a community where they can find the latest news, thoughtful commentaries, occasionally funny articles, and a place to discuss their favorite soccer teams.
We’ve been going strong throughout the 2018 season but we’re still pushing to be the best site we can. But before you decide we’re a match made in heaven, here’s a little about us:
- We were founded in November of 2016.
- We are a part of SB Nation, a national sports website that boasts over 300 team-specific blogs, like this one.
- Our goal is to provide superior coverage of soccer in Minnesota from the perspective of the fans, but with the professional bits of journalism too.
- None of our contributors have any background in journalism, nor do any of our contributors receive compensation for their work. We do what we do because we love what we do.
- Our contributors have the potential to have their work featured on SB Nation, and, if assigned, may attend Minnesota United’s or local soccer clubs’ training sessions, matches, or events.
We understand (and hope) that our contributors have lives outside of our work. We don’t expect constant availability and we rarely assign work. Rather we ask that contributors are committed, however often that means.
We do not discriminate based on anything—period. Don’t doubt that we’ll accept your application; give it ago, but don’t apply for a writing position with poor grammar.
Below is a list of open positions with our staff. Many of the positions are constantly open with no cap. Because we don’t have a budget or payroll, we really don’t have a limit on how many contributors we have. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Reach out to us anyway—we won’t turn down talent.
Open Positions
Video Producer
Is making cool videos your thing? We hope so, because we are looking to expand into video content.
Applicants should be skilled in all facets of video production and be able to work creatively and independently. Applicants should also be able to provide samples of professional-level work, though professional experience is not necessary
Interested? Send an email explaining why you think you’d be a good fit in this position to epluribusloonum [AT] gmail [DOT] com.
Spanish-Language Contributor
We’d love to add content in Spanish to our blog. (We even have a name picked out for it and everything.) Content will primarily focus on Minnesota United, though there could be instances where local soccer comes in as well.
This position permits remote work, though local contributors would have opportunities to serve as a credentialed reporter and/or translator at matches, training sessions, and other events.
Fluency, both verbally and in terms of writing, in Spanish is a requirement.
Interested? Send an email in either English or Spanish explaining why you think you’d be a good fit in this position to epluribusloonum [AT] gmail [DOT] com.
Minnesota United-Focused Contributor
Most of our coverage centers around the Loons, so we’re always looking for additional contributors to enhance our content.
Opportunities to serve as a credentialed reporter at matches, training sessions, and other events may arise from this position, though all contributions can be made remotely as well.
Applicants must be able to write cohesively.
We do ask that applicants are fans of Minnesota United.
Interested? Send an email explaining why you think you’d be a good fit in this position to epluribusloonum [AT] gmail [DOT] com.
Don’t see the right position for you? Don’t fret, we can still use your talent(s). Send us an email explaining what you bring to the table and we’ll see if we can use it. We’re always open-minded to what content can be.
Cheers!
