Preview: International Friendly between Minnesota United FC and Deportivo Saprissa.

The Loons take on the Costa Rican champions tonight, how will they fare?

What day is it? Huuuummmmpppppp daaaaayyyyyyyy. Just kidding, it’s game day fam.

Minnesota United FC takes on Costa Rican champions Deportivo Saprissa in an international friendly tonight. The two squads are in the middle of their seasons, and this friendly will give both squads to roll out players who may not normally see the field on a typical match-day. For Minnesota, this will be their 4th match in the past week and a half, so do not expect any starters to be out on the pitch tonight. This friendly will be a showing for the Loons younger players and/or players who don’t normally make the XI on match day. Here is my predicted lineup that Adrian Heath rolls out with:

I am hoping that Bertrand Owundi E`ko makes his MNUFC debut tonight, the Cameroonian has immense size and his potential is still fairly high considering he is a raw talent. Harrison Heath and Collin Martin will make up the midfield accompanied by Pangop and Gomez on the wings. I don’t think that Adrian Heath will continue with the 3-5-2 formation, considering that we do not have three Center backs who would be capable of holding a three-man backline, besides our starters. Adrian Heath will also unleash the pace of Mason Toye up top, through the long ball and crosses off the wing.

Deportiva Saprissa will be a formidable foe and they will be a great test for an inexperienced Loons team, if that is the choice that Adrian Heath rolls out with. The match is set for a 7pm kickoff at TCF Bank Stadium with a 90 degree temperature in the surrounding area.
