Alec Ferrell was one of Minnesota United’s four SuperDraft picks in 2017. Chosen in the second round, the Wake Forest goalkeeper was the top keeper chosen despite injury issues.
What did he do?
How many times can we say nothing in this series?
Ferrell was highly rated coming out of Wake Forest, but was still projected to be United’s third-string goalkeeper and was not immediately signed.
How did he leave?
It’s more that he never really entered in the first place.
He was still drafted over injuries, but the extent of those issues were clearly a red flag for the front office, and he was never signed to a contract.
Where is he now?
Ferrell’s injury was career-ending and he is now out of soccer.
He’s now a financial planner with Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado.
But on the bright side, there’s this photo of him floating around out there, which we really hope he still uses.
