José Leitón was one of the now several Costa Rican players to ply their trade with Minnesota United.

What did he do?

Leiton arrived in mid-August, on loan from Costa Rican club Herediano. Having made his international debut in the Gold Cup a month before, Leiton’s acquisition looked to be a savvy one.

He had his fifteen minutes of fame in the second half of a 1-1 draw with the Philadelphia Union last season. And those fifteen minutes were his only minutes.

How did he leave?

When it became clear that he would not be getting playing time — the purpose of his loan move — in 2018 either, his loan deal was terminated.

Where is he now?

Leiton is still with Herediano in the Primera Division.

Despite featuring heavily for the club two seasons ago, Leiton has just one appearance in six matches.
