Marco Carducci is one of the names that has been forgotten rather quickly for many involved with Minnesota United.

What did he do?

United invited Carducci on as a preseason trialist in the run-up to the 2017 season. The expectation was for him to compete for a back-up job.

He had previously appeared for the Vancouver Whitecaps and spent three years bouncing between their senior and USL sides before being released after the 2016 season.

He also appeared for three different levels of Canadian youth national teams.

How did he leave?

Carducci did not see any reported playing time during the preseason and was not signed.

Where is he now?

After the rejection from the Loons, Carducci headed back to the USL. He joined the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, which are affiliated with the Houston Dynamo.

He only made six appearances for RGVFC though and departed after the 2017 season.

Carducci returned to his native Calgary and hopped aboard with Calgary Foothills FC of the Premier Development League (PDL).

He is still with that club serving as both the starting goalkeeper and a coach. He picked up the league’s Golden Glove award as his team won the 2018 PDL championship.
