Christian Ramirez’s name has been in the headlines for months now, whether it be his form or transfer news. Today, two days prior to the transfer deadline, we have concrete news.
Paul Tenorio of TheAthleticSoccer is reporting that Ramirez is headed to expansion side Los Angeles FC. The terms of the deal have not yet been released, and when they are we will promptly update with what is to follow.
It has been rumored that Ramirez has been on his way out for months, and that rumor became a reality when the club signed their second designated player in Angelo Rodriguez, a striker out of Colombia. Ramirez was benched and he did not play this past weekend in a home loss to the Seattle Sounders.
At 8:05 pm tonight, Minnesota United confirmed the news that the club has traded their longtime striker, Christian Ramirez to expansion side Los Angeles FC.
The club then posted a tribute video to their longtime #9.
The transaction is as follows: 250,000 in GAM 2018, 250,000 GAM 2019, 100 TAM 2018, 200 TAM 2019 and up to 200,000 more based on player performance.
E PluribusLoonum will update tomorrow morning with a reflection on the trade, but for now, we let it sink in. Thank you for your patience, but most of all, thank you Christian.
