With the MLS Cup and MLS Expansion Draft behind us we officially head into the offseason ahead of the 2020 season. Last night Minnesota United released it’s list of rostered players as at Noon the deadline to exercise contract options closed. Just under a month ago the club declined the contract options for five players. Yesterday the club announced that the options for Lawrence Olum and Miguel Ibarra had been declined. Along with those Bobby Shuttleworth is out of contract without an option and has not been re-signed.
Fan favorite Ibarra was one of the players who played for the club in the NASL. Miguel was sold from MNUFC to Liga MX’s Club León in 2015 but returned to the club in 2017 when the Loons purchased him back. Since re-joining the club in 2017 he has made 88 appearances for 6,319 minutes, scoring 12 goals, and also getting 14 assists.
Olum joined Minnesota United for the 2019 season coming over from Portland Timbers, where he had played during the 2018 season. The center-back made just 12 competitive appearances for the Loons in 2019 for 722 minutes played. Of those 12 appearances he started 7 times, playing the full 90’ each time.
Bobby Shuttleworth also joined the club prior to the 2017 season, coming over from New England Revolution. Shuttleworth, while with the club for three seasons, made all his appearances for MNUFC in his first two. Making 60 appearances for 5,229 minutes across all competitive play and obtaining 8 clean sheets in those two years. In 2019 Shuttleworth backed up Vito Mannone during the season until being loaned to USL Championship side Sacramento Republic FC in August. He would make 15 appearances with SRFC totaling 1,350 minutes with 3 clean sheets.
Here are the currently rostered players for Minnesota.
Goalkeepers: Dayne St. Claire

Midfielders: Osvaldo Alonso, Hassani Dotson, Thomas Chacon, Ethan Finlay, Jan Gregus, Marlon Hairston, Robin Lod, Kevin Molino
