Forward Madison FC’s marquee friendly of the summer will come against top-tier competition from the other side of the border. Querétaro FC, who play in Liga MX, will visit the Flamingos on July 16th.

Querétaro, known as Los Gallos Blancos, or roosters, currently sit at the bottom of the league table, with zero points through seven matches. The club parted ways with their manager this week after a 3-1 loss to newly-promoted Lobos BUAP.

Los Gallos Blancos are relatively new to the top division stage, after a turbulent history of relocations. They enjoy a fierce rivalry with Club León, where current Minnesota United midfielder Miguel Ibarra briefly played, and Atlas. The match will serve as a tune-up for the Mexican side before the Apertura portion of their season.

The Flamingos recently signed fullback Christian “Pato” Diaz, who previously played for Atlas.
