Minnesota United is in the midst of an unprecedented run in the 2019 US Open Cup.
After dispatching USL Championship side New Mexico United 6-1 on Wednesday night, the Loons have advanced to the semifinal round of the competition. Their opponent will be the Portland Timbers, who edged out LAFC in a contentious fixture.
The semifinal will be played at Allianz Field on August 7th. The game location was determined by a random draw Thursday afternoon.
Should the Loons beat the Timbers, they would have a shot at hosting the final as well. The hosting priority for the championship game was also determined by draw. Atlanta United has top priority, but Minnesota is second, which means Allianz Field would be the location if Orlando City advances out of the East.
Season ticket holders will have access to tickets for the game first, followed by waiting list and newsletter members before the general public is able to purchase.
