Minnesota United could be set for their second bit of action in Major League Soccer’s secondary transfer window.
According to multiple reports from France, including L’Equipe, the Loons are close to signing French left back Wilfried Moimbé. Multiple outlets in Minnesota are also reporting the acquisition.
Moimbé, 30, is currently without a club after a spell with French Ligue 2 club AS Nancy. He’s also appeared most recently in the French top division with Nantes and played briefly with England’s Oldham Athletic.
Moimbé’s contract with Nancy expired at the beginning of July, according to Transfermarkt. He made 24 appearances for the club in the 2018/19 season, according to Soccerway. He scored one goal and earned five yellow cards.
Moimbé would likely occupy an international slot for Minnesota. With the previous addition of Robin Lod, the Loons have one available.
All-star right back Romain Metanire joined United from the French league at the start of the season and has been considered a fantastic addition by many.
