Minnesota United announced today that they have partnered with Eagan based airline, Sun Country Airlines for a charter flight to the US Open Cup Final in Atlanta, GA on August 27th.
“In Atlanta, our club has a chance to make history as we compete for the first championship in our MLS history in the U.S. Open Cup Final,” said MNUFC CEO Chris Wright. “As soon as the final whistle blew in our win over Portland, we knew we would have to find a way to bring our support with us, and we’re tremendously excited to be partnering with Sun Country Airlines on a chartered flight to the Final. We know our fans will prove that the Wonderwall can be built — fan by fan — wherever this club goes.”
The flight will take off from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Tuesday the 27th at 9:15 AM CT, the return flight will depart Atlanta at 12:30 AM ET for the return leg to MSP. The ticket, which costs $325 also includes coach bus transportation to and from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
“We pride ourselves on connecting our guests to their favorite people, places and memories, and we’re excited to be taking these fans to watch their favorite team battle for a championship,” said Sun Country Airlines CEO Jude Bricker. “Minnesota United has such a tremendous fan base and we look forward to welcoming their fans onboard.”
The flight can be purchased at www.suncountry.com/mnufc for $325 and match tickets can be purchased from the Minnesota Wonderwall for $20. The Wonderwall is chipping in $10 towards everyone’s match ticket to make it more affordable to attend and if you want to go but haven’t grabbed a flight this is also a great option to do.
Minnesota United travels to Atlanta, GA on Tuesday, August 27th to face 2017 expansion companion Atlanta United in the 2019 US Open Cup Final. If you can’t make the match it can also be viewed on ESPN+.
