Early this morning in an email to fans Minnesota United announced the match against German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg, was being postponed. The match was originally scheduled to take place on May 27th at Allianz Field in St. Paul as the second match on their US Tour for 2020. This would have been the 2nd straight year that MNUFC would’ve hosted a top flight German side after hosting Hertha BSC last season.
In the statement the Loons said “The clubs are working together to reschedule the game.” But provided no details on when they are looking to move it too.
Forward Madison on the other hand announced the complete cancellation of the match this year and that the clubs are attempting to find a time in 2021 to play the fixture. Forward Madison’s official statement reads.
Since both games were scheduled within a matter of days of each other, this makes it appear that the match, if played, will be done sometime in 2021.
