Minnesota United FC and Allina Health will partner with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at Allianz Field on Thursday April 23rd and Friday April 24th from 10 AM to 4 PM both days. The blood drive will be held in Allianz Field’s Stadium club and will be open to roughly 90 donors each of the two days. You must pre-register to donate which you can do via redcrossblood.org or the Red Cross Blood Donor App and using the code “MNUFC”.

“One of the underlying principles of our club is that whenever and wherever we possibly can, we help our community with its most important needs. In these times of incredible uncertainty, we must prioritize and help where we have the opportunity,” said MNUFC CEO Chris Wright. “There is significant concern about blood shortages at this time and Minnesota United is proud to do our part, partner with Allina Health and use our home, Allianz Field, to provide a much needed resource and location for a major community blood drive.”

“We have been humbled by the outpouring of community support for not only Allina Health, but all those who are working to respond to the coronavirus pandemic,” said Dr. Penny Wheeler, President and CEO of Allina Health. “We know everyone is looking for ways to help and donating blood is a powerful way to show support. We are proud to partner with Minnesota United on these lifesaving efforts.”

Along with the blood drive the club and Allina Health will also be collecting PPE and hand sown masks. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to comply with social distancing policies the waiting areas will be staggered and Red Cross staff will manage entry into the stadium. The donation stations will also be spread appropriately and will be sanitized between uses. Donors and volunteers will also be required to use the hand sanitizer stations setup throughout the area.
