Yesterday Minnesota United officially signed defender Bakaye Dibassy to a contract. Dibassy has spent the last four seasons in France with Ligue 1 side Amiens Sporting Club. When asked about the signing head coach Adrian Heath said:
“Acquiring someone like Dibassy, who possesses experience, versatility and incredible athleticism — who has played so many games in the top leagues in France — is a huge boost for the club. I liken him to Romain Metanire – very strong, loves to run, loads of experience and a great character fit for this club. We are delighted to bring him in.”
Dibassy will join the club sometime after the Secondary Transfer Window opens on August 12th. The date will depend on when the club receives his physical, ITC, and when he receives his P1 Visa. Bakaye has played both CB and LB while in France over the past four seasons and normally this is when we would do a scouting report but.
I've been unsuccessful in finding Bakaye Dibassy game tape to watch, but I'll offer this:@fbref says that five of his 25 appearances for Amiens in 19/20 saw him play LB, 21 saw him play CB (one game had both). So really, we won't know where he's best until he plays here.

Depending on whether or not the season continues in some form or fashion we may see him put on a shirt for the Loons in 2020 or it may have to wait until 2021 before he plays/
