Last night Minneapolis City SC traveled to Madison’s Breese Stevens Field to face USL League One side Forward Madison FC. This came just over a week after the Crows defeated Augsburg 2-0 in Minneapolis. Minneapolis City SC would have a tougher task than normal against a professional side as they only had four players on their roster who we’re also rostered against Cleveland SC six weeks ago.

The fellas look to grab a win in our friendly match against @mplscitysc
This match however was almost entirely Madison, but not from the get go. The Crows had a few big chances in the 11th minute and even held off Madison for almost the entire first half hour. Aaron Molloy scored first in the 27th minute for Madison, setting off something that the Crows couldn’t stop.
After another good ~15 minutes holding off the Flamingos, the Crows let in back to back goals with Christian Enriquez scoring in the 43rd minute and Ryan Sierakowski in the 44th.

Two minutes after coming back from the half time break Madison’s Jesús “Chino” Pérez slotted home a fourth goal for the home side. And then three minutes later Madison scored number five when Tyler Allen scored in the 50th minute.
10 minutes later Leroy Enzugusi, who is on trial with Madison, scored the 6th and final goal of the night for ‘Mingos. This timeframe had Madison scoring all six goals in just a timeframe of 33 minutes of the match across both halves.
While he scoreline didn’t end well for Minneapolis City, the positive is they had multiple players from their Minneapolis City Futures program on the roster. 2 of the 3 Futures players made the Starting XI with a third coming on later in the night.
The 6-0 loss to Forward Madison officially puts an end to the 2021 Minneapolis City SC season, while Forward Madison will host the Richmond Kickers in USL League One play this Saturday night at 7 PM.
