For the second week in a row Forward Madison came into a match against a team near the top of the table. This one a home match against expansion side Union Omaha, who ended last week in second place in USL League One. Last time out the Flamingos massively out-shot FC Tucson, that was not the case on Sunday afternoon in Wauwatosa.
Union Omaha had the advantage with 8 total shots compared to Madison’s six, but both teams only had a single shot on goal. Alas with only the one shot on goal neither side was able to break the other and the match ended in another scoreless draw.
You can view the full highlights of Madison vs Omaha below.
This brings us to another big standings roundup heading into Week 14, where the Flamingos have two matches to play, both with big implications in the standings.
At the top of the table Greenville Triumph gained one point after drawing with FC Tucson. That point combined with Union Omaha drawing eliminated the Owls from hosting the final but the Richmond Kickers still have a slight chance at catching the Triumph. This also means Greenville Triumph have 100% locked up one of two spots in the USL League One final.
Below them not everyone has a chance at getting into the 2020 USL League One final. 3rd and 4th place Union Omaha and North Texas SC have two and three games left. Omaha is tied with Richmond on points and North Texas SC is three points back. 5th place FC Tucson is the highest team to be eliminated from playoff contention so far. They are only four points back from Richmond but only have one match left, making the amount back a moot point.
Below Tucson, the Red Wolves, New England Revolution II, and Forward Madison all have enough game left to make up the points difference between themselves and Richmond. The bottom three have been eliminated with Fort Lauderdale CF and South Georgia Tormenta having been eliminated this past week. Orlando City B has been eliminated for a few weeks.
