The top four teams in the Women’s Premier Soccer League start their quest to win the 2019 WPSL Championship and hoist the Jerry Zanelli Cup tonight in Stillwater, OK. While they had different routes to get to this point they all have similar stories in their seasons. Motor City, Pensacola, Seattle, and Utah have a combined 41-2-1 record through the regular season and region playoffs. All four have outscored their opponents to insane degrees with 188 combined goals for to only 23 combined goals against. But that won’t be the case this weekend at Neal Patterson Stadium.

Pensacola FC vs Seattle Sounders Women

Opening the National Semi-Finals is the only perfect team on the season, Pensacola FC, facing off with the defending champion Sounders Women. Pensacola comes in with a perfect 10-0-0 record against Sounders 9-1-0 record. The biggest difference between this match and the other two this weekend is these teams have played each other before. Last year it was Sounders Women who beat Pensacola FC 3-1 to win the WPSL Championship.

Motor City FC vs Utah Royals FC Reserves

The second of the two semi-finals pits the Central Region Champion, the 11-1-0 Utah Royals FC Reserves against East Region Champion, the unbeaten 11-0-1 Motor City FC. Utah Royals Reserves are the only expansion team in the National Finals but have not played like it this season with their only loss coming against Utah Arrows SC.

The first of the two Semi-Finals will be played at 6 PM and the second one being played at 8 PM. The winners of each match will advance to the National Championship on Sunday at Noon for the WPSL Championship with the winner hoisting the Jerry Zanelli Cup. All three matches will be viewable on myCujoo.tv.
