Preview: USOC, Fourth Round - MNUFC vs Colorado Rapids

The Loons are looking to continue their run in the 2022 edition of the tournament

Tonight, Minnesota United FC takes on the Colorado Rapids in the Fourth Round of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at Allianz Field in St. Paul. Last time out in the Open Cup the Loons would make it to the Final before falling to Atlanta United in Atlanta, GA at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Last time out against Colorado Rapids, the Loons won 3-1 at home in St. Paul back in April.

Opposition:

The Loons meet fellow MLS side Colorado Rapids in the fourth round of the 2022 US Open Cup. Only 32 clubs remain at this stage of the tournament and both sides look to advance to the fifth round. Due to the Rapids participation they received a bye into the Round of 32 for this tournament, while MNUFC had to get past Forward Madison to advance. In league play the Rapids sit ninth in the Western Conference with a 3-3-4 record and 12 points. They were eliminated from the Concacaf Champions League by Guatemalan side Comunicaciones F.C.
